For absolutely no reason I was feeling a little down this morning. I thought to myself “what would I tell my readers to do?” As a result I decided to create a list of things I’m thankful for. I sometimes look at it as a self check-up. It’s something you can always default to and lift your spirits and it’s so easy! It has been said that social media can aid to making people feel down about themselves. This is because people only witness the good that is going on in other people’s lives. As a result they compare their own life to the life of others. As much fun as social media can be… it’s important to remember not to compare yourself to others. Your life is your own and that’s a pretty cool thing! It’s also okay to have ups and downs but it’s how you choose to handle those situations that can affect your happiness and make a big difference in your life.
This type of list can also be very eye opening. You might begin thinking about things you didn’t even know you could be thankful for! For example, on my drive home I was looking at the mountains. I see them everyday. But today the mountains seem more prominent. They are staggered and the taller mountains were covered in snow while the smaller ones were not. I started marveling at their beauty and how magnificent nature is. I then realized how incredibly thankful I am that my entire drive home is aligned with mountain views. I’m fortunate enough to say that I’ve lived by both the ocean and the mountains. I can also say both are equally stunning. However, mountains call to my soul because the explorations they provide are endless and the thought of being completely unplugged for a day or two makes me happy. It really fuels my hygge energy when I’m exploring new trails, putting up my hammock, and or putting up my tent with my husband and our pup! The sound of a crackling fire in the background in combination with the sounds of nature really puts me in a happy mood! I also can’t go camping without my favorite camping mug to put my cozy drinks in!

- I’m thankful for the outdoors
- My husbands unwavering support.
- The Mountains
- The way my dog Nala gently gives my hand a lick before she lays down next to me in bed. It’s like a little kiss goodnight.
- I’m thankful that my cat Gatsby because he always purrs when I pick him up. His purr is very calming and therapeutic.
- My Life. I’ve almost died 3 times. Maybe I’ll make a post about that someday 😉
- The Lord
- I got a raise at my job today!
- All of the amazing comments I’ve received on my blog… seriously you are the reason this is so fun for me!
I have many lists that could fill many pages. Sometimes all you need is a quick list to reset your brain. Your life is like an empty template. You are the one who decides the content, design, and what it means to you. Life is a lot like your blog. How are you going to fill those spaces? ☀️
